Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon Laptop Review: Speeding Minimalism

    Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon

At the end of 2020, Lenovo presents its newest hero in the laptop market by presenting the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon. Carrying a minimalist device design that targets professionals, this laptop offers performance that is claimed to be fast.

To answer this question, detikINET tried the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon for more than two weeks, starting from the design side to its performance in supporting user needs. Here's the review:

    Design

From the appearance, as the name implies, this latest Lenovo laptop is made of carbon fiber material. For deficient for the first time using a laptop made from carbon, this gives an interesting impression.

The material feels smooth combined with white creates a clean impression. But on the other hand, it can be homework for you to keep taking care of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon so that it doesn't look dirty.

For a professional, this laptop can be an option. With body dimensions of 13.9 x 296.9 x 208.55 mm, it shows that this device is slim, suitable for business activities because the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon will not be a burden because it weighs less than 1 Kg.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon feels comfortable and sturdy when held, even when done with one hand. In fact, when viewed from its size, this laptop is quite large.

Seen from the front, there is the writing Lenovo Yoga. At the top left and bottom right is the Lenovo logo. A contemporary touch is found on the right and left sides, where there are only USB type C ports. There are three USB type Cs, two on the right and one on the left, side by side with a 3.5mm audio jack and power button.

Even so, Lenovo provides in its sales package a hub that has access to connect using HDMI, VGA, and USB 3.1 ports. The existence of this hub makes the laptop look a bit thin and also reminds us of laptops from Apple.

    Screen

Switch to the screen. The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon leaves a wow impression, this screen extends so widely that it creates a thin bezel for a device called a laptop. Of course, this spoils your eyes who like to use laptops for a long time, whether as a need for work, hobbies, or entertainment.

This thin bezel is a plus, on the other hand for me who is not used to it, it is a bit strange, although not really. Oddly, this laptop tends to be almost a box screen, not the rectangle we are used to.

That's because the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon has a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz with an aspect ratio of 16:10. Even so, the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon screen looks wider than its fellow laptops.

Based on detikINET's experience, this laptop screen is quite awesome. Apparently, the panel used is IPS with 72% NTSC / 100% sRGB color coverage. This laptop has a high brightness level of up to 300 Nits, but don't worry, this screen panel has been certified which ensures the blue light produced is safe for the user's eyes.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon has an embedded Dolby Atmos audio system. The sound sounded very crunchy. Interestingly, you can adjust the sound mode you want as needed, such as Dynamic, Movie, Music, Game, and Voice.

    Keyboard

One of the advantages of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon lies in the keyboard. Not too hard, but also not too light. It feels good when the fingers clash with each other pressing the keyboard. There is a premium feel.

Plus, we can activate or deactivate the keyboard LED-backlit by pressing the Fn + Spacebar button. You can use this when you are in the low lightroom.

There is something annoying on the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon keyboard, namely the small page up and page down buttons. For me with large fingers, it was difficult, even though it was minor.

From the touchpad side, the size is quite large and smooth. Moving the cursor is quite comfortable, so even without a mouse is not a problem.

    Performance

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Evo certification. This is a consideration for buying a laptop, because of the ability to turn on the device very quickly in seconds, from a closed laptop state. When the device is turned off until it turns on perfectly it only takes seven seconds.

Looking at the RAM capacity in Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon, it uses 16 GB LPDDR4x RAM combined with M.2 PCIe SSD internal storage with a capacity of 1 TB. For the operating system, this laptop runs Windows 10 Home 64 bit.

Based on detikINET's experience, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is fast in processing. Even invited to multitasking, this laptop is stubborn and can afford it.

Then what about the battery? This latest Lenovo laptop is suitable for all-day use without the hassle of having to frequently charge. This device can last about nine hours.

    Conclusion

From the physical appearance, Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon can make you fall in love quickly. Carbon material creates a subtle impression when this device is held. This is coupled with a sturdy and lightweight body, a plus for professional users.

Another added value emanates from the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon screen. Although it looks boxy, the thin bezel makes this screen-wide for a 13.3-inch laptop.

With type C ports ranging from chargers to USB, this device is very contemporary in meeting the needs of today's laptop users. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon can be your friend to support daily productivity, especially when you have to do digital activities, be it Work From Home or enjoy digital entertainment.

Lenovo sells the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon at IDR 19,499.00. With deficient reviews, are you interested in this one laptop?
